Job Overview
We are a new smaller Learning Center in Dayton Nv. Licensed for 25 children split between 2 classes. Catering to the developmental needs of children ages 3-6 years old. I am currently transitioning my smaller classroom for a "littles" class with ages 10 months-2 yrs. For our Fall enrollment. We are a Play, Emergent and Curriculum based Center. I am looking for a mixed-aged closing Teacher.
The hours of operation are 6:30am-6:00pm M-F. Following the Lyon County USD Calendar with some Holiday break exceptions and a summer program option.
As the mixed-aged Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping young minds and fostering a positive learning environment for students. You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, providing instruction, and supporting the academic and social development of young children. Supervising your classroom and delegating jobs to the Floater as needed. Making sure the children are constantly following health and safety standards. As well as cleaning, satanizing and disinfecting areas daily or as needed. Be comfortable with doing parent/guardian conferences and children assessments. Inform the Director of any needed supplies for your classroom or special lesson plans. Attend staff meetings. You must flexible, reliable and also be a self-motivated worker, as the Closer you might be alone for a short time. We currently have 10 children enrolled with a max of 15 in the class. However, only 4 are M-F the others are 1-3 days a week. And a majority are picked up by 5:00, usually we are done for the day by 6:00
Duties
- Educate students on various Developmental Centers, following the curriculum
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning atmosphere
- Implement Cognitive education strategies to enhance reading, writing, math, gross motor, and fine motor skills. As well as color, letter, number and shape recognition.
- Provide care and support for young learners, including pre-K readiness.
- Utilize effective communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues
- Incorporate physical education activities to promote health and wellness among students.
-Most importantly, sing, play, be silly and have fun!
Requirements
- Previous experience in daycare, childcare, or preschool Center.
- Strong understanding of child welfare and development
- Proficient in classroom management techniques
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
ALL staff are required at applicant's expense, to have a current:
T.B or willing to get one prior to first day of employment. You cannot start until this is done
Eligibility memo (Livescan) from local Sheriff's office or willing to get one after hired. Can take up to 30 days to be cleared. You cannot start until this is in the system.
First aid and CPR or willing to take courses once hired.
Complete the required Nv Registry courses within the first 90 days of employment.
Those with current or in the process of fullfilling requirments, with be be considered first.
Hours Needed
1-6 M-F, at first just as the closer and nap help. Then 9-6 during the summer program, pending ratio needs. In the Fall full time hours will stay 9-6 pending ratio.
We will Follow the Lyon County USD calendar, including snow days.
Summer hours are 6:30-6:00. Staff will have the option to work the entire summer or take time off pending coverage for the time requested.
As a new Center, I am unable to pay much, the Center is a small one of 25 total children.
I can offer free Childcare for ONE child as I am unable to pay as much as the bigger established Centers.
