Since its inception in 1926, Michigan First has been at the forefront of providing financial services to lower income communities. We firmly believe that each and every person should have equal access to financial education, lending programs, and a place where their banking needs are met. Because of this, we have been designated as a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). This year, we became a member of the Detroit CDFI Coalition, a collaborative group of city stakeholders, other CDFIs, and businesses working together to expand banking services, lending, and investment opportunities within the city of Detroit. We are thrilled to be part of an amazing group of businesses and equally honored to share that Jennifer Borowy, our President/CEO, has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Coalition. This appointment allows us to expand our commitment to providing financial assistance to our members and communities we serve, and allows Michigan First to continue growing its footprint in the very city we were founded nearly 100 years ago. ...Show more
