"The Cyber Group Way"

Pros

Good for: - If you have worked a career as a developer, you are well set for retirement and you’re looking to coast in the final years of your career. - If you are an app developer, arrogant, and think you are about to set the world on fire fresh out of college. - If you are looking for a visa just to stay in the US - You are in a truly desperate situation

Cons

- HR is non-existent. If you are on the receiving end of hostility out of the management team (which occurs frequently) there is nobody to report these issues to and hold superiors accountable. o Racism: this company embraces a racist culture. Black employees are the only employees that are drug tested. If you are black and working at Cyber Group look around and see how many others there are, the historical average is 0. During layoff periods black employees go first, white employees go second, and the friends of the management team are saved. • Applicable quotes from positions of VP and above • “I don’t want my daughter to marry a black man” • “Get your papers ready (Hispanic employee) Trump is going to be kicking you out soon” • “Is that damn Brit still in first place?” o Political Bias: Avoid this company if you are conservative, you will be ostracized and ridiculed for even supporting conservative businesses • Applicable quotes from positions of VP and above • “Why are you eating Chic-Fil-A? They donated one hundred million to conservative groups” o Sexual and Inappropriate humor: The amount of “locker room talk” at this company is appalling • Applicable quotes and actions from positions of VP and above • “How many p*rn sites do you think this kid has an account for?” • Action: Sexualizing and “stalking” social media pages of attractive colleagues at partner companies - Management Style: o Feudal: Management only values you for what you can offer immediately. You will be squeezed until you either latch onto a project where the company is in such financial distress they cannot afford to get rid of you, or they pass you around like a dirty needle with no chance of upward mobility. There’s really no good situations in this company o Zero training: You will have to learn a role with zero insight or knowledge into what you will be doing. Obviously failure is still your fault. o Racist: As I said above, you are treated the way your current project VP views people of your skin color. - Product Delivery: o As you can imagine, the company does not put out quality work. Why would they move to be captive under Salesforce if the money was rolling in? Because this company hunts rats, not deer. The only clients you will be working with you will be ashamed to be working with. Respected companies end contracts with Cyber Group after 6 months to a year. - Employee Satisfaction: o Terrible. They say “Competitive wages” but that’s competitive to the low end of the scale. o The “reviews” that the responder is touting employees are pressured to fill out all 10’s o Bonuses are rare and yearly bonuses are almost always delayed 6 months to a year. The “95% of bonuses are paid” stat from the responder doesn’t state these bonuses are paid anywhere near the promised payment time. o The prior review saying you will be placed on multiple projects and only get credit for one is 100% true. You will have a manager say they need you to sit in for them on their 7:00 am and 10:00 pm meetings and then never approve the hours you bill for it. Nobody is ever aware you were the one spending the late nights and that is by design. o The only employees who talk well about Cyber Group are either reliant on the visa Cyber Group is providing, or they are in a desperate situation such as a single parent and need the job. Nobody chooses to work here; it’s the last resort.

Pros

If you're good at what you do, you can work less hours and still come out doing better since most of the people hired are unskilled since they want to pay dirt cheap salaries. Note: this doesn't always work as sometimes they will assign you to two clients at once (so that you work at night and never have time for family or hobbies) without extra compensation

Cons

Low salary unless you're a favorite (usually involves being related or close friends with VP and above). Hard work will get recognized with cheap awards rather than salary increase or bonuses. You can be promised bonuses and never receive it as they will just dance around the questions and say "it's coming" for months (not sure how long it would have gone for since I left but I've heard it can go for years). If they get you a visa, expect even worse treatment. Constantly hiring inadequate people to avoid paying normal salaries. High turnover. I'm still in contact with the few people who have stayed but they say it hasn't gotten any better. No room to grow unless you're a favorite.

Pros

The US branch essentially has Leads/Managers consulting with the customers on projects. The actual development staff is based offshore. Most of the customer base is based in Texas which means less to no travel. The company does conduct pretty good social events. Compensation is slightly less compared to the industry standard but I suppose that can be negotiated on an individual basis.

Cons

There is a pervasive culture of politics and hierarchy similar to the Indian parliament. If you are a favored person of the select few in the top management, then you get promotions, special considerations, etc. The actual technical talent or speed of execution of customer projects is viewed as a negative. Obedience to the top hierarchy is valued more than competency in the job.
