Pros

Many employees have been around for years. I started with Country Financial over 20 years ago right out of college. I have stuck with this company due to their culture, pension plan and opportunity for growth.

Cons

I wish flexible work such as working 4 days a work (10 hours) would be promoted rather than traditional 5 day work week. If this is an option, I'm not aware of it.

Pros

Environment is professional, pay is good. the normal perks that comes with a large company

Cons

Complete lack of leadership at the TOP and Middle, on the Information Technology side, the C level execs for the technology side of the house, all came over from Target, these are the same people that were running the show during their giant security breach. Then they came in and spent a long time coming up with a new restructuring model. and then Fired over a hundred people in the IT structure. Problem - they dont know what they are doing. They fired some people that filled Key roles, without a plan to fill those roles or transfer those gaps. Now everyone doing the work barely knows what they are supposed to do, and ever worse they dont know who to contact in other departments for other issues. Also, on a project scale The business side does not communicate with the technical side. So you will have a bunch of project analyst and managers sitting around discussing per say the "cisco phone roll out for agency" and all of them being super nice and professional, assuming they are doing a great job, when in reality they are screwing up this project because they aren't engaging the actual technical experts on everything and dont understand that a simple design does not provide maximum ROI to country. There is most likely going to be another huge restructuring in order to fix the first restructuring. place sucks if you don't sell insurance. Don't get me wrong, i dont do anything all day, i get paid alot of money to just sit and wait for something to break, at the same time, who is supposed to be watching me ? task direction ? several people are asleep at the wheel.
