Pros

If you are passionate about supporting survivors of domestic violence and breaking the cycle of abuse, don't look any further - at A Safe Place you will meet like minded colleagues and will get the support from management that you need. I have been at the organization for almost 6 months now (after being a bit hesitant to accept the offer due to the negative reviews I saw online) and I am so happy I followed my heart! The organization has rapidly grown in the last couple of years, expanding its programs and services in order to provide wraparound support for survivors. This has contributed to some growing pains but you can clearly see the signs of change as the whole organization is moving in the right direction. The CEO has been working relentlessly to provide employees with the support they need in terms of benefits/compensation and flexibility that would reduce staff turnover and would create an environment where every employee feels valued and appreciated.

Cons

Working with survivors of DV is challenging and requires experience, passion, patience and dedication. The organization is sometimes struggling with limited funding but understands the need to support staff and create a positive work environment.
