Pros
AlignMed offers APPs and physicians the opportunity to practice in a meaningful manner, and the company's approach to practice is consistent with the ideals that motivate providers to pursue this career in the first place.
I have found this organization to be unique in that there are leaders with a healthcare provider background serving in C-suite roles; this is important, because it injects the practice with a "patient first" mentality that is present throughout the management structure-- something that, as any experienced provider can speak to, is a phrase often tossed around within organizations, but rarely lived in practice. AlignMed is different.
In addition to the positive company culture, the practical aspects of the role complement my needs as well. There is an emphasis on work/life balance and sustainability within the role, and the support that is offered to new and experienced providers alike is unparalleled. Even as an experienced provider, I have learned so much that I feel significantly enhances my professional value.
I have only been here a couple of years, but can definitely see myself in it for the long haul... like many of my colleagues who have been here 10+ years.
Cons
The nature of the role requires the ability to function and critically think independently, which may not be for every APP (though clinical decision support is always available if needed).
