Pros

Really interesting work, you are at the forefront of the VPP industry. Remote company, cool Brooklyn office, some people are there for the mission. SFT is cool as hell.

Cons

The most recent review from 3/27 is spot on. EnergyHub runs like a chaotic, mismanaged high school, and that stems from leadership down. Ego trips and gossip galore, from leadership, to management, to ICs. It's a core part of the culture at this point. Leadership is all but absent. Employees have 3x the workload and concerns are dismissed when this is raised to management. Priorities shift at the drop of a hat. For a company that's been around for 10+ years and has a parent company, there are no career ladders and raises/promotions are random. Benefits are well below industry standard. 14 days PTO, Juneteenth, Christmas and New Years Eve are not paid holidays. AI is shoved down people's throats despite how absolutely horrible it is for the environment, and it definitely hasn't reduced anyone's workload or made things run any smoother. This was a fantastic place to be a few years ago. Now, I wouldn't recommend it. Go elsewhere if you value inclusivity, the environment, your mental sanity.

Pros

EnergyHub has their heart in the right place, and there are a lot of very intelligent and dedicated people working on the mission of VPPs. It’s also great to work with people who come from all different parts of the industry or otherwise.

Cons

The company is mismanaged and unorganized. Priorities are constantly shifting without any rationale, and everything felt half baked when assigned something. The lack of processes established for a company of this age is astounding, it felt like everyone was drowning and hanging on by a thread at times and it was obvious the workload was far too much for most people regardless of the department you were in. It felt like a startup in the worst way, yet they’ve been in business since before 2010. I’d expect a company with this reputation in the industry to have a bit more clarity.
