Pros

I really liked working here - the company employs a ton of very smart people and there is always an interesting project going on. Despite the growing pains and chaos of PE ownership, I thought the company had a very collaborative and friendly culture. I enjoyed my time here.

Cons

It may sound silly, but I quit Envestnet over a lack of paternity leave. The company only provides 1 month to men, which is absolutely shocking in this day and age. After having a challenging first child, I knew I couldn't leave my wife alone with two babies after just 1 short month of leave. It ate me up inside that Envestnet's policy was preventing me from building my family, and I ended up leaving after 3 years with the company. I have worked for employers who offered men anywhere from 3-6 months of paternal leave, but never have I seen just 1 month. The company otherwise has good benefits including a small monthly parental stipend that really makes a difference with your childcare expenses. I spoke to colleagues who also delayed children while working at Envestnet due to the paternal leave policy. The wealth industry can be a good ol boys club, and I think this policy is an overlooked vestige of that mentality.
