Pros

Some of the departments in the company have been left alone and allowed to run smoothly and efficiently after the Great Firing Massacre of 2017.

Cons

One of the awesome things about coming to work every day is seeing people you know and become friends with. When everyone is fired, what do you have to look forward to? This place is not nearly as fun to work at as when I started here. Add to that the worry about who they are going to fire next. I don't know what they tell themselves, but no one else is buying their lame excuses to fire anyone who doesn't fall in their cookie cutter mold of what an employee should be. They have fired or driven out some really awesome people who were assets to the company and helped the rest of us out all the time. Not to mention, these people were great to work with, and helped to build a sense of community in this place. Instead of giving credit where credit is due, they shower inefficient employees with praise. What kind of message does that send to the rest of the employees? A very discouraging one. I have literally had a friend ask me if we had an opening for a position she was looking for and I have discouraged her from applying here because I didn't want to subject a friend of mine to the working environment in the department she was interested in.

I appreciate your comments. I want to talk to you about some of the people who have left our company this year. It is often hard to have a friend leave especially when you think that they were assets to the company. For a person to be a true asset they not only need to be able to do their job, but also be able to follow our values and to work with others. Sometimes people might be great at a certain hard skill, but if they cannot be honest, accountable, or work in a team, they will not fit. So we work with them, teach them our values, create development plans for them, etc. to hopefully bring them around. Some come around, some leave, and some in the end are fired. Those that are fired hopefully see that this is not the place for them. Those hard skills might make them successful somewhere else. We here want more than that. We want those people that have the skills but can also work on a team, stand behind their word, have a little fun now and then, be a perpetual learner and strive to wow both internal and external customers.
