Applied for a senior role; received a call and asked what my salary requirement would be because based on my experience I was probably looking for more than they wanted to pay, but if we could come to an agreement it would be great because I had great experience. In the DC area for almost 20 years experience, they want to pay less than $90K. They may want to define what they consider "competitive pay" on their web page and/or stop underbidding work to win the contract and then expect others to bail them out.
