Pros

My favorite part about my job is obviously working with animals. Co-workers are also awesome, although like any company, there are the few drama starters.

Cons

Promotions don't happen unless you're friends with management. Horribly underpaid floor staff, although doctor's are greatly compensated. Management is horrible, under trained. They micromanage and do not address true problems. They will hire people they have fired not once but twice, then promote them. They LOVE drama, that's why they keep the drama starting immature people there. All of the rules and policies do not apply to them (management), they do what they want. The turn over is horrible for all floor staff because management sees them as just another body, easily replaceable. They will gladly tell you to your face that you are easily replaceable and not valued. They do not care what you have going on with your life, no compassion at all.

Pros

Benefits, Competitive Pay (although inconsistent over the years), good amount of PTO.

Cons

TOXIC work environment and culture: Flawed training system, rotate you to different departments for 2 weeks without assigned tasks, then put you on the floor within your department without confirming your learning skills from the checklist given to you. When you are not able to perform certain tasks within 90 days, they will let you go instead of trying to train you appropriately. There is very limited room for growth in some departments. Expectation is everyone is required to train regardless of title or salary therefore you are responsible for another employee's performance, time, and skills. Communication between leadership e.i. management and staff is unclear and lacking. There is a lack of respect, professionalism, and compassion. New management of some departments lack appropriate communication and very unapproachable. Micromanaging! High turnover rate in multiple departments such as ICU, SX, ER, and Front Desk. The doctors are just as disrespectful in some departments and will neglect communication with you altogether. It creates a steady environment of fear, anxiety, bullying, and depression for the staff. The lunch breaks are not guaranteed in multiple departments but you can get written up for coming in late or staying over your time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE WORKING HERE, BUT IF YOU DO TREAD LIGHTLY AND CHOOSE YOUR DEPARTMENT CAREFULLY! IF THEY SAY CERTAIN DEPARTMENTS/DOCTORS/MANAGEMENT ARE TOXIC, BELIEVE THEM!!!
