Pros

At least 60% of the people who work here are friendly and competent. At least that’s more than half. HR has a great imagination, which provides some level of entertainment.

Cons

The company is running into severe difficulty recruiting anyone who can pass a drug test, and I’m not sure that’s even a requirement anymore. Look at the company’s career site, and you’ll find more than 90 open positions, in the thick of heating season. Clearly, there’s a problem here. Faced with such a dilemma, Petro could improve their pay and work conditions to be competitive, or they could write fiction on Glassdoor and hope people are fooled. It’s sad but not surprising that they seem to have chosen the latter path. Take a look at the recent five-star reviews. Notice the ones that a) sound the same, b) don’t list any cons (everyone has something they would change) or c) openly malign employees as lazy or complainers. There, you have your HR plants. The truth is, this is not a place people go for long-term career prospects. Turnover is horrendous, with some departments almost completely turning over every year. The company refuses to offer competitive pay and benefits, so vital positions are left empty for months. Benefits are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Every year they charge more and offer less, and sneak in all sorts of fees. How far your career advances depends entirely on your manager. If they want you to advance, you will, and if they don’t, you won’t, and your actual job performance seldom has anything to do with it. If your manager isn’t interested in your career growth then you’re out of luck. Most amusing are the posts praising the CEO. In my time working here, I have not met one person who doesn’t consider him to be a petty, incompetent tyrant. Not that many people have ever actually met him, as he rarely communicates with the peasants or ventures out of his Long Island kingdom. Don’t take my word for it, just look at the company’s Yelp reviews. If that’s how they treat their customers, how do you think they treat employees?

Pros

I really enjoyed working with Petro, I really like the sales commission you could get for selling service agreements

Cons

Pricing calls training, it was basic but there was a lot of metrics you had to meet. I felt unprepared

Pros

Flexibility with your schedule as long as your reaching your goals.

Cons

The company is slowly deteriorating. The product itself is phasing out and the management is attempting to apply more pressure to the reps to make up for it. Upper management doesn’t have actual sales experience and then attempts to micromanage their sales teams with no idea of what is actually happening. The sales reps have a negative view of the upper management.
