Pros
Shorts and a tee are the normal in this position. Very open to non-standard lifestyles. When done right, low stress position for IS and tech support. Tight knit community, almost tribal like. This can also be a con (i.e. popularity contests abound). A great willingness to rehire if you leave on good terms. Tie Tuesdays are fun, as are the potlucks, Halloween festivities, and other EMPLOYEE (not management) driven events.
Cons
Pay is low considering the work load. Reviews/raises are once a year and if you miss the window of opportunity based on your hire date, your review may be upwards of 18 months. Merit raises don't exist. Moral is very low. Pressed to perform with the promise of a reward - the reward is slow to be delivered, if at all. Upper management is more worried about image over substance. Slow to add needed staff. Slow to remove cancer-like staff members. Must 'play the game' to get ahead. Slow/unwilling to address platform related problem that directly impact customer relations and employee stress levels.
