Pros

Most of the employees spending time with clients face-to-face do seem to care about the clients. Free meals during your workday. Reasonable PTO. Support you while getting certified.

Cons

The focus is on looks. Effort and money go into landscaping, renovations, etc. Meanwhile there is almost no training for staff, who are underpaid in comparison to similar jobs at competing organizations. Management provides very little supervision. It seems that managers don't want to take responsibility for their decisions, so they give indirect answers? Very confusing. You definitely need solid boundaries to be able to work here. Focus seems to be financial. Clients are routinely kept in treatment longer than clinically necessary due to their insurance. This was occurring well before the financial issues associated with COVID. Organization is routinely understaffed. Counselor 1 and tech positions are constantly needing to cover overtime. When staff schedules go out in the beginning of the month, it is typical that at least 10 shifts per week need coverage. This has been going on since I started working here and according to my peers had gone on for years before that.

Pros

Great mission and vision. A much needed service provider

Cons

Super high turnover. Compensation for the job you do is predicated in how many years you are with the company rather than the actual job you do (hired for one role but ended up taking on several) You can do a great job but they won’t support you or compensate you fairly.

Pros

There are many great employees that work at Gateway. Unfortunately no one stays more than 8 months because the upper management is horrible.

Cons

The upper management is incredibly difficult to work with. They keep acquiring new places and adding new initiatives but don’t hire anyone to support their initiatives or acquisitions, which is a recipe for failure.
