Pros
Working here has been a life changing opportunity but mental well-being is more important now. Visual collaboration and design thinking exposure has been eye opening, with many outlets for professional development in empathy, facilitation, human centered design and methodologies. Amazingly talented people both internally and externally that are true change agents and future of work advocates. Supportive, inspiring and creative teammates working collectively to contribute to each other’s and the overall company’s success. Lots of people empowering each other and providing opportunities to expand skills, learn new ones and grow professionally and personally. Hyper growth pushed the limits of the company’s core value Adapt to Thrive. Employees rose to the occasion and left comfort zones to be more agile and transparent.
Cons
-Since starting here (2020) have not received a raise or bonus. No clearly defined career paths and review process doesn’t mean anything in CS. -CS leadership is toxic and was never bought in to company values. Pattern of behavior of key CS leader pushing out employees, specifically ones that have been employed since before new leadership came on board. If you have a personality, don’t expect to be treated like a human. This leadership has negatively impacted the team culture tremendously. The vibe is very much keep your head down, don’t engage in anything that’s not related to your customers and get as much money out of your accounts as possible. No matter what you do it’s not enough and don’t even think about raising your hand for help, it will be used against you. -MURAL used to be authentic in that it drank its own champagne. CS used to be collaborative, interactive, respectful and supportive. In the last year there have been so many new initiatives compiled on top of each other without any opportunity to be the voice of the customer, or have your own voice heard. -CS is pushed to buy into the rinse and repeat initiatives that were brought here by new leadership and their buddies, initiatives that haven’t been working and that have created an unnecessarily competitive and deeply silo’d culture across the Success org. - There is always a lack of clarity, lack of communication of expectations and lots of wasted time with duplicate efforts but if you produce things that don’t hit the mark the first time you’ll hear about it. There is no room for failure and no constructive pathway for turning failures into successes. We used to have team meetings to brainstorm challenges and ideas for addressing them in a collaborative inclusive learning environment. Now you’re on your own and if you do fail you get reprimanded for not being successful the first time and performance improvement plans get handed out like company swag. Psychological safety does not exist, everyone is always on edge. -The CS org is hypocritical and not authentic. There is no leadership, there are intimidation tactics and bad decisions made at the top level that then trickle downward to the worker bees who are all doing the best they can. We’re expected to support and grow customers and stand behind collaborative intelligence, but that does not exist internally. It’s all smoke and mirrors disguised with new buzzwords on a weekly basis.
