Great Customers & Programs. Horrible Management Structure.
Pros
Beautiful property and diverse customer base. Opportunities to aid in development for all ages and unique experiences like zip lining and hands on education. It's a unique location with a lot of staffing opportunities.
Cons
The management structure at Pali is absolutely horrendous. A multi-million dollar property that continues to treat staff as if it's still a small operation with limited funds. The term "mountain salary" is widely known in the area. Low pay and uneven pay structures are justification for seasonal revenue. However, Pali is a 4 season camp that welcomes some of the most elite offspring in Hollywood and fortune 500 companies. While the programs and clients are wonderful, the staff is constantly in a state of survival mode. Overworked and underpaid, they are at the mercy of whatever demands the owner has insisted upon for the week. From violating labor laws to toxic working conditions. Behind the scenes, the employee culture at Pali is a far cry from the fun, friendly and cozy image shared with the public. There is a very obvious theme of gender discrimination which begins at the top and trickles down through those that either fear it or feed it. Staff are expected (and often asked) to "roll with the punches" or risk loosing their position.
