Pros

Skillz led the industry in bringing mobile esports gaming to everyone. It is really an incredible opportunity. It’s fun, you’re working in very young industry and have the power to make a crazy amount of impact on that industry. Skillz is still poised to capture the majority of that industry over the next few years.

Cons

It’s a fast paced start up, which always leads to tough problems to solve on the technical side. It’s not an easy job, hard work is expected but that does mean you’ll often be working with incredible smart and talented people from all walks of life.

I’ve had the privilege of working with an exceptional manager who was not only a strong leader but also a great mentor — someone who helped me grow technically and professionally. I’ve also been fortunate to work alongside incredibly supportive coworkers; you can always count on your fellow engineers to step in and help without any hidden agendas. The work itself is engaging — I often get to work on complex projects, and since I’m frequently dealing with new issues and bugs, I’ve been able to learn and grow much faster.
