Today is recognized as #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience. The purpose of the day is to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. In honor of this day and to continue commemorating Black History Month, we are recognizing Jedidah Isler, the first Black woman to receive a PhD in Astrophysics from Yale. Watch her Ted Talk below to learn more about her story.
In support of #AmericanHeartMonth, we challenged our employees to wear red and post a picture for #NationalWearRedDay to help spread awareness for heart disease and promote heart health. In return, for every photo we received, we added to a donation to the American Heart Association. Our employees did not disappoint on their ability to show up (even virtually) and support a bigger cause. We are honored to support heart health in our communities and each other.
As we continue to recognize and celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth, we are honored to introduce one of our amazing employees who makes an impact in our organization every day, Christopher Williams. Christopher started with DriveTime nearly 7 years ago and is now an Assistant Director over our Retail Operations department. Read below to hear more about his personal DriveTime story and what Black History Month means to him.
Today is #NationalWearRedDay, a day to raise awareness about heart disease and to educate on overall heart health. To raise awareness, we’ve challenged our employees to wear red and snap a photo to share internally. For every photo we receive, we will make a donation to the @American Heart Association in support of National Wear Red Day and to honor February as American Heart Month! Are you wearing red today?
Today is #USODay! Here at DriveTime, we have partnered with the USO for many years and we are excited to continue to give back to military personnel, veterans, and their families. Over the years, we’ve maintained this relationship by getting our employees involved in virtual food drives to troops, writing thank you cards, and even sending gift baskets to military personnel. Thank you to the @USO for your dedication in serving those who serve our country! We are proud to partner with you. #ServingThoseWhoServed
National Freedom Day commemorates the date – February 1, 1865 – when President Abraham Lincoln signed a joint resolution that proposed the 13th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which formally abolished slavery in the United States. We are honored to recognize this important day in history while we continue to stand together against injustice and champion diversity and inclusion every day. #NationalFreedomDay
February is recognized as Black History Month, a time dedicated to highlighting the monumental role of Black and African American people in U.S. history. We are proud to celebrate this month by spotlighting a few well-known public figures who have played an integral part in history for our country and, of course, highlighting some of our amazing employees who make a difference in our organization every day. To kick off the month, we are excited to highlight Ruby Bridges, the first African-American student to integrate an elementary school in the south and continues to take action toward racial justice. #BlackHistoryMonth #LifeatDriveTime
Today is #DataPrivacyDay, an international event created to raise awareness and data privacy protection best practices. In recognition, we are highlighting our Information Security Team who works hard to protect our customers’ and our company's data every day. Hear from the team about what data privacy means to them!
As we conclude our January Steps to Success series, we will be highlighting one more of our amazing leaders as they share how they have found their own success. To honor Martin Luther King Jr. and his passionate fight to end racial and social injustice, we dedicated #MLKDay last week to be a day of service - that’s why we created our Dance to Donate challenge. For every dance video we received, we added to a donation to @NAACP LDF, RAICES and @King Center in support of Dr. King and his legacy. Watch below for a video compilation of our difference makers at DriveTime!
