MedVet is celebrating National Nonprofit Day by spotlighting a very special program near and dear to our caregivers: the AVMF REACH Program. We understand unexpected pet emergencies and specialty veterinary care may be a financial burden for pet families — this program breaks down barriers to access veterinary care by offering grants to over 100,000 AVMA members nationwide. Through the AVMF REACH Program and on behalf of our clients, MedVet veterinarians proudly support charitable care when financial barriers could keep patients from getting the care they need. If you're interested and able to support pet owners in financial need, please consider making a donation to AVMF's REACH Program by clicking the donation link on this post. https://lnkd.in/gT5zDGUE

Our MedVet teams across the nation stepped out in full force to support and participate in local Pride events. From parades to festivals, MedVet team members celebrated the spirit of unity, love, and respect that we stand for. Thank you to everyone who joined in the celebrations and showed what it truly means to be a community. Here's to love in all its forms! 🌈
One way our leadership team demonstrates MedVet’s core values of Teamwork, Leadership, and Compassion is by emphasizing their professional and personal development. The Jupiter team meets monthly to discuss various topics to facilitate idea inspiration, motivation to act and accountability. Their goal? To coach their teams in providing quality, compassionate care to ensure MedVet is leading specialty healthcare for pets! Most recently, Hospital Director Jennifer Laessig led a discussion about the book “Extreme Ownership” by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. The book highlights the importance of taking accountability in fostering a culture of growth and learning for frontline leaders, focusing on the team's collective success.
Congratulations to Dr. Monty Galley at MedVet Chicago for passing his boards! Dr. Galley is now a Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon through the American College of Veterinary Surgeons - ACVS. This is a huge accomplishment that takes years of hard work and dedication. It demonstrates Dr. Galley's expertise and commitment to providing top-notch care for every patient.
MedVet is the largest network of emergency and specialty hospitals owned and led by veterinarians. This unique distinction allows us to prioritize the needs of our caregivers and foster a culture anchored by our three core values: Teamwork, Leadership, and Compassion. Teamwork is critical to achieving the best patient outcomes in our hospitals. Leadership creates opportunity and advances careers. Compassion is at the heart of every action in how we treat our patients, clients, referral partners, and each other.
MedVet had the honor of participating in an engaging veterinary medicine session at Roll Elementary School in Cincinnati as part of the Melanin in Veterinary Medicine (MIVM) event series. During the session, students had the opportunity to learn how to identify foreign bodies on radiographs and gain familiarity with canine anatomy. MedVet’s MIVM program provides opportunities to underrepresented students in our communities by educating, inspiring, and providing STEM experiences to garner interest in veterinary medicine. We extend our gratitude to Marie Roos, Roll Elementary's administrator, for warmly welcoming our team. We would also like to acknowledge the dedication of our MedVet team members who contributed to MIVM's initiative: Tonya Luckey (Operations partner and Black Employee Network lead), Dr. Brittany Freeman (Radiologist), Dr. Maya Brooks (Emergency Doctor), Margina Byrd (Client Service Representative), and Clare Roos (Registered Veterinary Technician).
We're thrilled to share that MedVet Diley Hill has maintained its accreditation through the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Pet owners can trust that an AAHA-accredited hospital follows the AAHA Standards of Accreditation, which are continuously reviewed and updated by leaders in the veterinary profession to reflect changing best practices from the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. It takes a tremendous amount of effort for our team to complete this process so we're sharing a huge congratulations to our caregivers for this accomplishment!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that MedVet Dallas is partnering with BEST EMS LLC as the chosen provider for the exceptional care of K9 officers and working dogs in the Dallas area. Dr. Carrie Davis, our very own Medical Director at MedVet Dallas, will be serving as the Veterinary Medical Director for this program. To kick off this incredible collaboration, we recently hosted a hands-on training event where Best EMS paramedics learned and practiced techniques to stabilize and safely transport our beloved K9 officers in need. Our amazing team members even volunteered their time, and some brought their own furry friends to assist with the training! A special shoutout to Matthew Kinney, the critical care flight paramedic and owner of 911 Tactical Medicine, who was our expert trainer for the day. Thank you for sharing your invaluable knowledge and skills with us! We are truly honored to partner with Best EMS and ensure that these incredible heroes have access to the expert and collaborative care they deserve when their lives are on the line.
