Love learning about the science behind metabolic synchronization? We have a great content team working to showcase our science and products. Give them some love on these behind the scenes shots! #bts #lifelongtransformation #mylifeatmedifast
Earlier this year, the Medifast community came together for our annual All Company Meeting. We're grateful for these times together to not only share business updates, but to connect with each other as we unite in addressing the challenges of metabolic dysfunction. We also had a lot of fun with our friendly competition team building activity!
Health doesn’t happen in isolation. In this Health by Design clip, Dr. A, co-founder of OPTAVIA, and Nicholas Johnson, President of Medifast, discuss why community plays such a powerful role in long-term metabolic health. The environment around us shapes our habits, our mindset and ultimately our outcomes. When people come together around shared goals — supporting one another, learning together and celebrating progress — healthy change becomes easier to sustain. Because metabolic health isn’t just physical. It’s mental, social and emotional too.
What are the earliest signs that metabolism might be out of balance? In this clip, Dr. Holly Lofton shares a common story she hears from patients: “My labs are normal, but I don’t feel like myself.” Persistent fatigue, low energy, unexplained weight changes and a general sense of malaise can all be early signs of metabolic dysfunction — even when standard lab work looks fine.
Why go back and reanalyze the clinical study data now? In this clip, Dr. Satya Jonnalagadda explains how evolving science — and growing concern around poor metabolic health — prompted her team to take a deeper look at existing clinical data through a new lens. While obesity has long been a public health concern, emerging research shows that poor metabolic health is even more widespread. That insight led the team to revisit the data collected in the clinical study — not just to look at weight loss, but to understand what that weight loss represented. What they found was bigger than the scale: • A reduction in visceral fat — the type linked to inflammation and metabolic dysfunction • Weight loss that predominantly came from fat, not lean mass • Preservation of lean mass, including healthy muscle that supports active metabolism By connecting these outcomes, the data revealed how the comprehensive approach supports metabolic health — not just weight change. This conversation highlights why science is never static — and why revisiting data with new questions can unlock meaningful insights that matter today.

At the center of everything we do is a simple but powerful belief in the importance of optimal metabolic health for all. To spread awareness about heart disease, team members across Medifast showed support for each other and their loved ones by wearing red for American Heart Month. We know the importance of relationships in the journey toward optimal health as a best-in-class wellness company – and we love an opportunity to come together as a community.
Recently, we released a survey that exposed Americans’ metabolic health knowledge gap. MedPage Today, a trusted source for clinical news coverage across the medical specialties, breaks down our survey.
