This Thanksgiving, we’re launching a new hunger relief initiative to give our customers the chance to stock food pantry shelves just by checking items off their own holiday grocery lists. So much of our sustainability strategy is driven by our goal of being a good neighbor and our understanding that partnership is key to protecting our environment. Our Osthemo Township, Mich. store recently partnered with its fellow local business, Edward’s Garments, just down the street to share our resources for the greater good. After donating $1 million to Hispanic chambers across the Midwest in March, it’s exciting to see those relationships continue to grow and create impact in our communities. We recently partnered with the Greater Lansing Hispanic Chamber on a Road to Retail event to demystify the process of getting products on store shelves for small Hispanic-owned businesses. Legacy Award winner Kevin Hurn won the 2021 Fred Meijer Award because of the legacy he’s built caring for our customers through his role on our pharmacy team. But today we’re recognizing him for a different kind of legacy — litters of legacies, actually. As the Fred Meijer Award winner, Kevin got to donate $5,000 to his favorite nonprofit, Paws with a Cause.
