Morning Pointe Senior Living recently presented its annual Exceeding Expectations Awards, recognizing associates who have gone above and beyond to serve residents, their families, and fellow coworkers. James Ford, Business Office Director at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City campus, won for the Business Office category. James worked his way up from a Cook position, working as a Resident Assistant and Lead RA before taking the Business Office position in 2021. He now oversees business functions at two communities, and the residents adore him. “I do what I do because I strive to make a difference,” he said.

Megan Dunaway, Community Relations Director at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley in Knoxville, Tennessee, won for the Sales and Marketing category. She has worked at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley since the building opened. “What makes me happy is helping people, so this field is perfect for that,” she said.
When told she won a 43" TV at our Morning Pointe of Louisville (Kentucky) Associate Christmas Party, Nurse LeAnn did not hesitate to gift it to our Lead Nurse, Jonah. She said she knew he and his wife wanted to turn their loft into a playroom for their daughter and needed a TV for it. We were so touched by this kind Christmas gesture by LeAnn! Josh Rhodes, Director of Information Technology, won for the Home Office category. Josh has been with Morning Pointe for two years and was praised for being courteous, professional, knowledgeable, committed to excellence and a good listener. He has led his team through a number of big technological projects during 2023 and remains dedicated not only to his work but also to building a team environment with his Morning Pointe IT associates and others within the company. “This award means that I’ve had a chance to serve my colleagues at Morning Pointe,” said Josh. “It reflects the symbiosis of a team that supports and energizes me so that I can return and provide that same service."

Beverly Smith, Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Powell, TN, won for the Life Enrichment category. She started as an Activities Assistant in 2020 just before the COVID shutdown and has proven her dedication to providing individualized activities for the residents. She checks on residents when they are in the hospital and never wants residents to feel left out. “Trying to make each day as special as I can really satisfies me and gives me a sense of purpose,” Beverly said.

Congratulations to Kahlalishia Williams, Director of Nursing at Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Assisted Living and Memory Care, who won for the Nursing category. Kahlalishia has been working at Morning Pointe of Tuscaloosa for two and a half years. She has worked in healthcare for more than 15 years and is able to relate to the staff on all levels. They in turn look up to her. “Nursing is my passion,” Kahlalishia said. “I knew at a young age that I wanted to go into nursing, and I love what I do. I love my residents at Morning Pointe.”
On Dec. 6, Morning Pointe Senior Living presented its annual Exceeding Expectations Awards, recognizing associates who have gone above and beyond to serve residents, their families, and fellow coworkers. Congratulations to Loretta Cameron, Lead CNA at Morning Pointe of Richmond, Kentucky, Senior Living, who won for the Resident Care category. She has been working at Morning Pointe of Richmond for more than 10 years. Beyond excelling at her everyday duties, she was praised for cutting the men’s hair, as well as volunteering to assist with menus and as a receptionist on her days off while the business office manager was in the hospital. “I feel like God called me to do this,” Loretta said. “I have a heart for people, and I love to take care of the elderly."
Meet Josh Hamill, first shift Lead Resident Assistant (RA) at Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove (TN) Assisted Living. He has been with Morning Pointe for 4 years. Josh's favorite part about working at Greenbriar Cove is his interaction with residents and building relationships with them. One of his best Morning Pointe memories is the time one of the residents jokingly referred to him as her "husband!" Josh is well-loved, and we are lucky to have him!
Meet Kathryn MaRous, LPN, Director of Nursing at Morning Pointe of Brentwood, Tennessee! Kathryn came to Morning Pointe this May with a background as a Broker before she became a Nurse. She was Ms. Illinois 2018 in the Ms. America Nation pageant and used the platform for Alzheimer's education. “It has been a wonderful journey,” Kathryn said of her career. “I am truly blessed to have landed here at Morning Pointe with this fantastic team of directors and such wonderful residents and their families.”
Abby Morrison, a Resident Assistant (RA) at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Russell, Kentucky, Memory Care, has only been with our company since July, but she is already finding fulfillment and love in her career! “I love working at The Lantern at Morning Pointe because it gives me quality one-on-one time with my residents and gives me a chance to provide them with the love and care that the deserve!” Abby said. Abby has even helped lead activities to help make residents' days more meaningful. She was named The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Russell's Associate of the Month for November.
