Meet Shonte, a Systems Engineer on the Mars 2020 Payload team who started at JPL as a summer intern in 1992. Each year, Shonte returned until she completed her M.S. in 1999 and has been here ever since, working on all types of missions and in every phase of the mission lifecycle!
"When I think of JPL, I think of some of the amazing people I have met." Meet Amalaye, a Flight Software Engineer who has been at JPL for over 20 years! Born in St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Amalaye has worked on a variety of projects including the "Space Internet," turning a spacecraft 25 million miles away into a router and networking rovers and seismometers.

This year, our annual giving campaign raised $495,270 for United Way of Greater Los Angeles! Additionally, our 2018 partnership provided JPLers with 20 volunteer opportunities to get involved with including a college essay workshop and tours of the Lab for high school students. In 2019, we're looking forward to growing our partnership with United Way to help them in their mission to end homelessness in LA and provide children with educational opportunities!
