Clinical trials may not reflect what it can really be like to stay on GLP-1s. In the real world, people often struggle to stay on their medication because of issues like cost, access, and side effects. However, in Omada’s Enhanced GLP-1 Care Track, 94% of members persisted on their GLP-1 medication through 3 months, and 84% did so through 6 months. How did members who stayed on their medication fare with weight loss and program engagement? Read the full report to find out. Download it now: https://lnkd.in/ekZuiMnB
🔔 Time to rethink ROI Employee healthcare benefits have evolved significantly in the last few years - with a rising use of digital health. Yet, how we measure the impact of these programs could be considered outdated.🤔 In a recent byline with SHRM, Wei-Li Shao, President at Omada Health, outlined what employers should focus on when evaluating programs: 🌟Engagement is Key: Track usage to assess whether benefits are truly impactful. 🌟Adopt a Holistic View: Use comprehensive frameworks like the American Medical Association's Return on Health to capture long-term value. 🌟Customized Goals: Tailor measurements to fit your unique workforce demographics and needs. 📈 The goal is for your benefits to deliver value, not just immediate returns. Get to the root of food habits like over eating or over snacking 🌱 ‼️ More than 40% of American adults have obesity - with countless diet trends and calorie-counting apps, the cycle of weight loss and regain is present for many individuals. At Omada, we've always taken a different approach. Research has shown that focusing on nutrient quality rather than diet type can be key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. That's why our anti-diet philosophy supports lasting behavior change - whether members are on their own health journey or taking GLP-1s. Patients, providers and payers alike are investing in GLP-1 medications - but are they seeing the value they expected? One study showed that less than half of patients stayed on GLP-1s for more than three months. Factors like this mean that many who use GLP-1s for weight management may not see the results reflected in clinical trials. So, what can help patients stick with their medications and achieve the health outcomes they’re looking for? Omada’s Senior Director of Clinical and Transitional Research Sarah Linke, PhD, MPH recaps the latest GLP-1 findings from Omada Insights Lab. "To bend the curve on chronic diseases, we need to build AI systems that work for everyone, especially the communities most affected by these conditions. Chronic conditions disproportionately impact underrepresented and economically disadvantaged groups, yet these same communities often continue to face the greatest barriers to accessing and benefiting from new technologies." In our latest edition of Proof Points, Senior Manager of Clinical Quality and Health Equity, Bolanle Bukoye, digs into biases in healthcare AI, and how the industry can work toward more inclusive and transparent technologies.
