Here’s something you may not have considered about food noise ... It’s a much better name for a scream-o band than a persistent preoccupation with food. In fact, more than half of people living with overweight or obesity have previously claimed food noise makes it harder to maintain healthy habits. So why reduce it to something that can be silenced when the issue strikes a much deeper chord? In our latest edition of Proof Points, Clinical Research Scientist Jeanean Naqvi and Behavioral Health Expert Carmen Kaperick, LICSW, CDCES explore the root causes of food noise and why simply turning down the volume with GLP-1s isn’t the answer to long-term health. Dig in, watch the recap video, and let us know what you think.
We are heartbroken to share the passing of Omada’s VP of Cardiometabolic Operations, Lisa McCormick, FNP-BC, RD, CDCES. Our thoughts are with her family and friends as we collectively grieve this tragic loss. Lisa’s impact at Omada is immeasurable. Upon joining the clinical team in 2019, she played a key role in the development and scaling of our diabetes and hypertension programs and led the cardiometabolic specialist team. She also helped launch Omada’s care team model after a successful pilot with our first hypertension specialists. A dietitian, nurse practitioner and diabetes educator, Lisa served as Omada’s primary obesity and weight management expert, and wrote the clinical foundation for Omada’s highly successful GLP-1 care program. As a leader, she saw near zero attrition and excellent engagement in her team—a testament to both her professional acumen and her compassion for her colleagues. Lisa touched the lives of all who knew her by bringing depth to every discussion, and joy to every room. Along with being an accomplished clinician and virtual care leader, she was a musician, a writer, a traveler, a friend, a wife and a mother. We are endlessly grateful that Lisa chose to spend her time with us. As we navigate our grief as an organization, we will carry on her commitment to fighting chronic disease and improving patient care through technology, innovation and compassion.
