Peabody Community Spotlight : Powdermill Village. Powdermill Village is a mixed-income community in Westfield, MA. This community of 250 apartment homes and townhouses, is spread out in a country setting in 12 buildings, tucked away in the picturesque foothills of the Berkshires. Residents are only minutes from the Mass Turnpike and convenient to east-west and north-south interstate highways. Residents also enjoy access to recreational opportunities including Amelia Park and Stanley Park and close by Westfield State College. Powdermill Village is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar property renovation to the interior and exterior. Residents will enjoy the new community spaces as well as enjoy brand new interiors. All of the apartment homes are upgraded with new cabinetry, counters and appliances in the kitchen. Throughout new luxury vinyl plank flooring, hardware and lighting upgrades as well as all new paint. All bathrooms have new fixtures and finishes. The community also features include outdoor balcony/patio space, outdoor pool, playground and basketball court.
We are pleased to announce that Erin Simas has joined the Peabody Team as our Learning and Development Manager. In her role, Erin will be based out of the Corporate Office in Braintree, MA and will be responsible for all aspects of personnel on-boarding and talent progression, including the assessment, development, and delivery of content specific training to advance employee skills while addressing and rectifying existing gaps. Erin joins Peabody with an extensive experience as a training manager. Erin is a Senior Certified Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP). A graduate of St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, she is presently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program at Fitchburg State University. Erin has a deep passion for helping others, and volunteers with Capture Humanity as an Editor/Ambassador and is an Ambassador with We Love Satos, Animal Rescue. Welcome to the team, Erin! Bob Notch, Director of Veterans Programs and Services of Brighton Marine, recently donated 15 Apple iPads to Bedford Green in Bedford, MA as part of their "Operation Connecting Veterans Home Program". This community of furnished apartment homes offers permanent, supportive housing for homeless Veterans and those at imminent risk of homelessness. An array of supportive services with on-site VA case managers and direct access to medical, clinical and well-being services are also offered to Veteran residents. The iPads donated by Brighton Marine will help support vital programming via the Veterans' formal and informal support systems.
