We’d like to welcome Jamie Hamilton to the RISE team as a Development Manager. Jamie was born in Tampa, FL and attended college at Louisiana State University earning a degree in Civil Engineering. She spent nearly four years working as a Project Engineer before transitioning into a role in business development. She competes nationally in tennis tournaments, which she recently won, and when she’s not working on her serve you can find her rollerblading or clocking hours towards her pilot’s license. RISE welcomes Tony Furnari to our construction team as a Senior Superintendent. From a young age, Tony has always had a passion for building and fixing things which eventually he channeled into a construction career. This included staring a company in New York that specialized in high-end residential and commercial buildings. With a diverse 20-year background in architecture, civil engineering, and building, Tony believes that the true success of a project can only be achieved by teamwork. He notes a highlight of his career has been working for Habitat for Humanity transforming lives and delivering dreams. Besides his passion for construction, Tony also has an ear for music having been a drummer in professional and worship bands as well as been a disc jockey for a decade in New York. In his free time, Tony enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, working on home improvement projects, watching College Game Day, and rooting on his favorite team: the Alabama Crimson Tide. Welcome to the team, Tony.
RISE and Origin Investments have partnered on a second multifamily development in Florida. Horizon at Sereno will be a Class-A multifamily community in suburban Tampa, FL and bring 320 units to market in Spring 2024. This first project Origin and RISE partnered on in Florida was Linden House in Jacksonville. Today we celebrated David Williams’ five years with RISE. David is Vice president of Accounting and Finance and has a huge impact on the “Serve” portion of RISE’s #LoveServeCare philosophy. If ever a call goes out to participate in community outreach, charitable acts, or service opportunities, David is among the first to answer and put in the work. A critical component of the finance team, his expertise has helped guide RISE through some of the most exciting deals in the company’s history. Join us in congratulating David on five years of incredible service.
RISE welcomes Kevin Lobo to our construction team as Senior Project Manager. Born in Queens and raised in Long Island, NY, Kevin attended Lehigh University and received a Master’s in civil engineering. Shortly after, Kevin joined the Navy as a SeaBee, which eventually landed him in Jacksonville where he fell in love with the beach life. So, after the Navy he stayed in Jacksonville and began his career in construction. In his free time, Kevin enjoys a good game of tennis and recently began practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

This week we celebrated Tesa Spray’s fifteenth year at RISE. Tesa is our Corporate Controller, but also much more than that. She is a ray of positivity who impacts every corner of our business and she’s a true champion of RISE’s culture, values, and our adherence to high standards. Greg Hunter, RISE CFO, presented Tesa with her 15-Year trophy in recognition of her dedication to everything that makes RISE what it is. RISE Breaks Ground on Second Gainesville Development Brandon Spencer (Development Project Manager) spoke about the long-term legacy of RISE's latest development, noting that over the 40-year life of this development it has the potential to house and serve over 14,500 people. 14,500 people who in turn will leave their own legacies and impact the Gainesville community.
Meet Joe Passkiewicz, RISE’s new Senior Vice President of Construction who joined our team on March 21. Joe has spent his entire career in the construction and comes from a family rooted in the industry. His father worked as a waterproofing contractor, and Joe found himself working jobsites starting at 15 years old. Throughout his career, Joe has performed in nearly every role: laborer, tradesman, house builder, superintendent, project manager, and construction executive. With over $1 Billion worth of multifamily and active adult projects under his belt, Joe has refined his strengths and his leadership. When away from the noise of the construction site, Joe enjoys the quiet things: fishing, backpacking, cooking, gardening, and spending time with his grandkids. And despite being born in Canada, Joe can trace his lineage back to the Mayflower.
Coming in 2023, Element 34 will be RISE’s second development in Gainesville, FL. At 223 units and 215,000 residential SF, Element 34 will be a four-story garden style apartment building located close to Butler Plaza. This proximity will provide residents easy access to many class-A retail options. The name, Element 34, references “being in your element,” which will be reinforced by a robust suite of upscale amenities. Element 34 is being developed, built, and professionally managed by RISE.
