Wayne Gibson has recently celebrated 50 years at Schnitzer Steel! Wayne first started in the Melt Shop, Yard, and Shipping departments. Eight months after joining the company, Wayne took a Craneperson position in the Melt Shop and has been there ever since. Prior to starting his career with Schnitzer Steel, Wayne served in the United States Army for 3 years, with 2 of those years spent in Vietnam. Wayne, we thank you for your military service and your 50+ years contribution to Schnitzer Steel.

On May 26th, SJ Williams will celebrate 52 years of service and is the highest tenured employee Schnitzer Steel. SJ has held various positions throughout the years and is currently a Crane Operator at our Attalla, AL location. “His loyalty and dedication to Schnitzer and the rest of the team is an inspiration to all who work here,” said Bob Guenot, General Manager.
