As a firm, we find ourselves looking forward into the future as we prepare for the disruption of our industry. Because SSOE’s future is as much about changing and adapting as it is about embracing our roots, we’re sharing our favorite quotes spoken by our founder, the late Al Samborn. This quote, the second of three, reminds us that we all can do something to better our world, not just by our actions but also our attitudes. To foster an optimistic outlook, we use collaboration to empower every employee to challenge the status quo and hold each other accountable. It emphasizes team rather than individual results, and it’s what allows us to bring together diverse points of view that drive better, more innovative solutions. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT #chooseSSOE
As a firm, we find ourselves looking forward into the future as we prepare for the disruption of our industry. Because SSOE’s future is as much about changing and adapting as it is about embracing our roots, we’re sharing our favorite quotes spoken by our founder, the late Al Samborn. This quote, the first of three, highlights the value of young talent. As we strive to design and build the future with technology driving change at an accelerated pace, we acknowledge this next generation of achievers will be the future of our business. We actively recruit employees who bring a fresh perspective and are just as focused on attracting them as we are to retaining them—offering extraordinary opportunities for career progression, an environment that rewards involvement and leverages the advantages of diversity, and professional development programs to build leaders that will ensure our sustainability into the future. #ThrowbackThursday #TBT #chooseSSOE

SSOE’s Alyson Dinca, Project Manager who supports our healthcare, commercial, and education clients from our Huntsville, Alabama office, has been selected to present at the Construction Management Association of America Colorado Chapter’s Information Management User Panel. A Construction Documents Technologist certified by the Construction Specifications Institute, Alyson is a known expert in project information management here at SSOE—recognized internally for her work related to the corporate-wide rollout of Newforma, which she will highlight at next week’s user panel in Denver. Newforma, our platform of choice for project information management, has served as an effective solution for integrating multiple software platforms to optimize what we know and how we do things. #SSOEsoutheast
Missed Autodesk University? You can still benefit from the conference's insightful takeaways with presentation slides and video now available. If you're looking to do more with Autodesk ReCap, check out SSOE Senior VDC Technical Leader Mark LaBell's "ReCap to the Max," where he explains how to edit, document, and coordinate in the reality capture and 3D scanning software that's changing the game.
SSOE’s Stephen Cotton, Structural Section Manager working in our Nashville office, has participated as a mentor for the Tennessee Tech University Civil Engineering Program’s Senior Design Project course for the past 7 years, 6 of which we’ve partnered with Fulghum, MacIndoe, & Associates. Our team of students recently presented on the 4,100-acre Memphis Regional Megasite project for which we provided structural engineering back in 2012 and our civil department continues to support. #SSOEsoutheast
¡El Día De Los Reyes! In honor of the Mexican holiday Three Kings’ Day that took place last week, our employees in Mexico delivered gifts to the first graders at a local low-income school. Students sent their wish lists and our employees in León came together and donated a majority of the 40+ gifts themselves, with the office’s Employee Club picking up the rest. The students were delighted to receive a special visit from the Three Kings themselves—a few volunteers from SSOE who offered to dress the part as they handed out the gifts. We became fast friends with the students, who even shared their Rosca de Reyes with us. #SSOEmexico #SSOEcares
Explore our interactive reality capture case study that showcases how SSOE’s team incorporated the latest in laser scanning technology to avoid shutdown, reduce risk, and provide valuable time savings on a recent project for a major food manufacturer. Our simulation takes you step-by-step through a highly confined and meticulous rigging and installation process to upgrade liquid sugar silos without impacting daily operations. Our ability to deliver this complex project without error resulted in SSOE being honored with the Leadership in Digital Innovation award at the GEOBIM conference in November.
Our León team recently celebrated Posada, a traditional holiday festival in Mexico, at the beautiful Skada Jardín. The evening began with the annual employee gift exchange and a delicious outdoor dinner to follow. CEO Vince DiPofi traveled from Toledo to join in on the celebrations, and had fun playing game show host as he quizzed employees on SSOE trivia—which many in attendance expressed was the highlight of the evening. Afterward, employees had the opportunity to stay and enjoy a DJ-guided dance party to close out the night. #SSOEmexico #workperks #chooseSSOE
