Thanks to their work with the frontline healthcare community, our Trauma team understands the critical value of blood transfusions. When members of our German Trauma Sales and Marketing teams met in Munich for a conference recently, they made time during the trip to take part in a local blood drive organized by the German Red Cross. A busy schedule never stops us finding ways to give back, especially if it helps save a life.
Holi, the Indian Festival of Colour, was celebrated with enthusiasm by our team in Mumbai. Holi celebrates the love between the Hindu god Krishna and his consort Radha, signifying a time for rebirth, rejuvenation and embracing positivity ahead of Spring.

Not all routes into a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) look the same. Following a 27-year career as an Orthopaedic Surgery Nurse, Carmen joined us last year as a Procedural Training Specialist at our Munich Academy for medical education 🎓 The wealth of clinical knowledge and OR experience that she brings to the Academy helps Carmen to provide an enriching experience for the healthcare professionals who visit our facility. For Carmen, the change in career has been very positive. “Every day is different! My job has a lot of variety. I love working with my team and meeting colleagues and surgeons from around the world.”
How do you get into a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths)? There are more routes than you might think. Meet Katarzyna and Clara, Medical Education Specialists in our London and Munich Academies respectively. They are the friendly faces who greet attendees of our medical education courses, and ensure that each session runs smoothly. Both women are proof that there is more than one route into a career working in STEM. Having previously worked in hospitality and front-of house roles, Katarzyna and Clara bring their organizational skills and can-do attitudes to the Academy team, ensuring that visitors are comfortable and able to fully immerse themselves in the education experience.
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is ‘what are you doing for others?’” – Martin Luther King Jr. Our teams in the US put these famous words into action in honour of the Martin Luther King Day of Service, by sending handwritten letters and cards to local Memphis senior citizens. A total of 312 cards brought a little light and joy to someone’s day, while also bridging the gaps between race, ethnicity and age in the community. This project was organized by our UNITY Employee Inclusion Group, which works to improve cultural awareness and understanding across our workforce.
