As we head into the weekend, are you ready for some football? First, we want to introduce you to Dr. Justin Deaton, Staff Physician, Emergency Medicine. He shares a passion for medicine that extends beyond the hospital and out onto the football field. Dr. Deaton is an airway management physician for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars. Dr. Deaton says his favorite part of the role is being able to offer medical care from the sidelines and experience the energy of the game directly from the field. “To be down there and feel the energy and to hear conversations and see what the players actually go through throughout the course of the game, both before, during halftime and afterwards…. It’s a phenomenal opportunity and I’m grateful I was given this chance.”
