We are thrilled to announce the official opening of our new centre in the heart of downtown Toronto at 19 Duncan Street! Our new centre is purpose-built for the future of work. It was designed with sustainability in mind and a careful focus on how people, their environment, and technology intersect. Guided by the three principles of the Thomson Reuters hybrid work strategy – trust, connection, and flexibility – the new centre offers more dedicated space to foster collaboration. Features of the centre include project team rooms, quiet rooms, wellness rooms, new food and beverage offerings, a three-season outdoor meeting space, and a fitness facility in the adjoining residential tower. We congratulate our entire team on this momentous occasion and look forward to witnessing incredible achievements emerge from this space. Stay tuned for more photos and videos from our opening celebrations.
Have you ever wondered what it's like to work from anywhere? Work from Anywhere is a flexible work arrangement, and a part of our Flex My Way benefits, that allows teammates to work in a different location for up to eight weeks per year, with up to four of those weeks in another country. Over the past year, our teammates have worked in some remarkable places. Check out our latest Inside Thomson Reuters blog to see where!
May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and at Thomson Reuters, we believe in celebrating the diversity of our team. This month, we’re taking time to recognize and honor the contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in our organization. We are hosting numerous events throughout the month with a theme of Embracing Empowerment: Advocacy and Awareness. Live and hybrid events will include a virtual spotlight of our regional Asian Affinity Network business resource groups, a virtual vote event, a virtual tour of the Tenement Museum in NYC, coffee chats with executives, and various in-person connections. Let’s work together to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace for everyone.
May is Mental Health Month, and at Thomson Reuters we’re committed to raising awareness and promoting mental health and well-being for our team. This month, we’ll be offering a series of mental health resources, including workshops, training sessions, and support groups to help our team prioritize their mental health. We recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we’re committed to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
At Thomson Reuters, we know that continuous learning and skill development are key to staying at the forefront of innovation which is why we are excited to share that today is our first enterprise-wide Global Learning Day! This represents a day where we dedicate time, resources, and experiences for our colleagues to grow and develop their careers together. Our focus for this first event is on artificial intelligence and machine learning, a topic that is so essential to Thomson Reuters informing the way forward. Throughout the day, we have a fantastic lineup of both live (in-person and virtual) as well as pre-recorded sessions that will cover everything from AI 101, a showcase of how we have integrated artificial intelligence and machine learning in our products, AI in our markets, and AI in our individual jobs. We are looking forward to hearing from our teammates' experience with AI. Stay tuned for a recap blog to see how teammates spent the day.
Throughout the first three months of 2023, our team in India volunteered over 13,954 hours in various projects! "With more than 500 team members participating, we undertook three significant projects: chaperoning youth with intellectual disabilities on an overnight camping trip, holding a fundraiser for the education of children from shelter homes and public schools, and visiting a shelter home for the elderly and children to distribute care packages and conduct workshops on health and hygiene." We're excited to see the positive impact our team will continue to make in the coming months!

Saturday, April 22, 2023, is Earth Day. In honor of this annual event, we sat down with Nikki, a Senior Specialist in Content Design & Development and a Green Team lead in Eagan, Minnesota. Green Teams are employee-led groups that gather sustainability-related suggestions and ideas from employees on key focus areas, arrange knowledge-sharing events and volunteering activities, and participate in and host events on or around Earth Day. Read our Q&A with Nikki to learn about the sustainability initiatives and the networking opportunities facilitated by the Green Team.
Happy Volunteer Recognition Day from Thomson Reuters! Did you know that all our teammates receive two days (16 hours) of paid time off every year to volunteer in their communities and make a positive impact? Last November, the Social Impact Institute team hosted the first annual Thomson Reuters Global Volunteer Day. Teammates used the day to volunteer for causes most important to them, and we surpassed our 2,000 volunteer hours goal. Learn more about how we make an impact through volunteering:
