Did you know? A recent study, shared by Employee-Owned S Corporations of America, showed that millennials who work at employee-owned companies are better prepared for retirement. Torch is an ESOP, and while we are proud that employee ownership allows for our employee-owners of ALL generations to prepare for their future retirement, we wanted to share this encouraging report for all of our millennials. According to this survey, two-thirds of millennials working at ESOP companies expect to retire at or before age 65, twice the number of millennials at non-ESOP companies. Eighty-one percent reported having a personal stake in the company’s success and 72 percent said they saw opportunities for their own growth in the business. On Friday, Torch employee-owners and interns attended Auburn University, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering's dedication and open house of the new Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center. Torch made a charitable gift commitment through the Auburn University Foundation to provide a study room in the new building for current and future Auburn engineering students. The Torch Technologies Study Room is located on the ground floor, which is equipped with maker spaces, laboratories, fabrication shops, collaborative study spaces and other creative environments that allow students to explore, to be creative, and to thrive, all within an environment that is designed around building them as outstanding professional engineers.
