The United Nations family based in UN City Copenhagen came together today to raise the rainbow flag – with pride. "This flag means a lot to the UN family - and to us at UN City [...] Today, we are here to celebrate universal human rights - and to remind ourselves that we all have a role to play in ensuring equal rights for LGBTQI+ people," said Jens Wandel, our Acting Executive Director and Chair of the UN Country Team "While we are lucky to enjoy this beautiful celebration in Copenhagen, discrimination against LGBTQI+ people persists in many countries, from the labour market, to schools and hospitals, and even their own families [...] This needs to change. And that change could not come soon enough," he added. #happypride everyone! 🌈
