Be Authentic! 4th of 5 Tips for Responding to Reviews on Glassdoor

Responding to reviews is extremely important because today’s job seekers want transparency and authenticity from employers. Valuing feedback shows you take employee satisfaction seriously Company responses to a review posted by a former employee or current employee may be the first thing a candidate sees before the recruitment process even starts. In fact, Glassdoor research says 90% of job seekers find the employer perspective useful when learning about jobs and companies. Responding to reviews demonstrates to both job seekers and current employees alike that you (1) value feedback and (2) take employee satisfaction seriously. When done right, it’s a great channel to build trust in an employer brand. Set expectations up front by being authentic Naturally, there’s an art to a great response. No one, least of all an engaged employee who’s taken the time to comment about a near-and-dear issue, wants a staged, one-size-fits-all reply that might as well have come from a faceless autobot. Mountain View, California-based Symphony Teleca, which helps enterprises create and commercialize SaaS/Cloud enterprise software, has taken authenticity to heart on its Glassdoor profile. “… Please focus on training,” read part of a fairly critical review posted to the company’s Glassdoor page, under “advice to senior management.” Symphony’s response was on point: “Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
