Tri County Transportation was started in 1964 by William and Janet Tibbott as a two-vehicle operation servicing the needs of students requiring specialized transportation. Through the years of hard work, Tri County has grown to provide transportation for thousands of school-aged children in seven school districts and the Appalachia Intermediate Unit 28, with over 250 vehicles.
Tri County Transportation has always been a leader in initiating and developing safety standards which exceed required levels set by the state or federal government.
