All of Biogen works well together across the globe. People often have more stakeholders in other countries than in their own offices. Therefore, everything is set up well for good communication no matter where you are located, whether it's at a desk in Cambridge, a huddle room, your home office, or in Zug, CH.

HR encourages working from home and I definitely knew many people in other groups that did take advantage of this. But in my group (research), I never saw a department that really encouraged it, in fact it was quite discouraged and frowned upon. That may be the life of a scientist. They viewed your productivity (at all levels) as measurable by the time you're at the bench.
