Has paid for most of the medical treatments I have needed. Although, when using a high deductible plan (no paycheck contributions), it can really hurt financially if you ever need to use emergency services.

For the high deductible plan, roughly half the annual deductible is covered by the company contribution to your HSA (Health Savings Account). If you can afford to keep your money in your HSA, you can put around $6000/yr into this account, and invest in mutual funds like an IRA, then pay for medical costs with after tax money. This is like an additional IRA that if used for medical purposes when you are older can be used completely tax free. Great deal!
