At the time when I worked there, the insurance would cover things that other insurance didn't cover. There were several options and levels of insurance based on your need, so the cost reflected that as well. I heard that it changed after I left, however, so I am not sure of current health insurance.

Booz Allen maintains a large and varied selection of health care benefits which allows the employee to choose what they need for their family and decline what is not necessary. The health care benefits also allows for life event changes to occur as needed and you do not have to wait for the next enrollment session.
