The health insurance offered at BrightPath is available, but far from comprehensive. Premiums are expensive, and employees face high deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, making routine and emergency care financially burdensome. For families in particular, the cost can be a significant strain.
Mental health coverage is especially limited, which is disappointing — and somewhat ironic — considering that we work with children on the autism spectrum and advocate daily for the importance of behavioral and mental health services. Accessing quality mental health support through the plan is difficult and often expensive, even with in-network providers.
Dental insurance is also minimal, with little coverage beyond a standard annual cleaning. Anything more complex, like fillings or orthodontics, typically isn’t covered or comes with steep out-of-pocket costs.
Overall, while health benefits are technically provided, the structure and coverage fall short of supporting staff in a meaningful way, especially those with families or ongoing health needs.
