Depends on the year. Typical large corporations where top brass get huge payouts even when the rest don't. But when they 'claim' to have a good year, if your personal rating is at a good number you can get a good payout but as always, they pay it in a chunk so half go to taxes.

Bonuses are a percentage of salary and is very structured so limited impact from performance. The calculation of the bonus factors in overall company performance, business unit performance, and individual performance. Bonuses are paid one time per year.

Company is doing very well overall so bonuses are paid out. Depending on job some positions / levels have modifiers for individual performance too
