Military Service Leave (MIL) is available for employees when called away to serve in the U.S. military forces. Job protection is provided for the duration of the leave. Cisco's MIL policy complies with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). In support of the nation's emergency call-up of U.S. military reservists, Cisco has created a special Emergency Call-Up Military Leave (ECU). This leave is Cisco's enhancement of the requirements under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA), and may be granted for up to 5 years. Both leaves provide a full integration of Cisco wages with military pay.

Covers the difference between your Cisco Salary AND Commission (at 80% goal I believe) and your Military Basic Pay (they don't count your entitlements against you, ie. BAH, BAS, Per Diem etc...) for up to two consecutive years of active duty. Jobs protection for up to five years though you may be in a different slot when you come back. In my experience, leadership is very supportive and they look highly on service members. Great company to work for!

Your job is protected for up to five years if you are involuntarily called to active duty. Cisco pays the difference between your military salary and (higher) Cisco salary. 401k contributions stop during military leave, but you can make a catch up contribution upon your return.
