Good vision plan from VSP, average cost $2 per paycheck

Vision was great and covered many doctors

This seems to be about the industry standard, but the VSP program doesn't give a great discount on better quality frames.

The Vision insurance is crap. It covers basic lenses once a year and gives you ~$100 towards frames every two years. Annual eye exams. However, the ~$100 benefit is only for the expensive frames at the doctor's office ($200+). If you buy discount frames online (~$90), you only get ~$45 reimbursed. It's still cheapest to buy online. It only costs $18/year in premiums out of my pocket, so at least you're not paying much for this.
