Best: If EY offers a pension plan as part of retirement benefits, the biggest upside is that it can provide a predictable stream of retirement income paid for by the company and financial planning resources to help you manage your long-term financial goals—something many employers no longer offer.
Worst: Pension plans — especially defined benefit or cash balance types — often come with vesting and eligibility requirements and less control over how funds are invested. If you leave before you’re vested, you might lose benefits, and you typically can’t move the pension easily to a new employer’s plan.
