We recently switched from the basic FICO Health Insurance and Dental plan and found that the FICO plan was a little better in terms of covering a higher percentage of the overall fees reducing the out of pocket expenses.

The switch to a high-deductible HSA was difficult, and the benefits selection process is rather confusing.

The Medical benefits have decline rapidly over the last 5 years. Each year something different and the employee paying more. The deductible is very high, more than is allowed in the HSA contribution which leads one paying a great deal more out of pocket. The deductible for pharmacy is included with the medical so you pretty much end up paying for the medication out of pocket or your HSA. The coverage is very sad and not very competitive with other company's in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is only marginally better than Obama Care.

Its difficult to compare except to the past. Today's insurance is more expensive and pays less than ever before.

Our deductible exceeds the federal limits for contributions to an HSA which leaves you to pay additional out of pocket expenses to fill in the donut hole.
