The employee discount is hardly ever available. You must use it when the hotel is just about empty or you'll be turned away.

It is hardly used at all. Points build up very slowly and only get you some minor things. Using the hotel discount on rooms is rare if ever used, so it really doesn't count for much, plus it is sort of a hassle to acquire. Used to have commission on selling out the hotel but they took that away which was a terrible idea.
