Unusual for a company to offer 401K and Pension. Pension not large, but have one

The pension plan was added just a few years ago. The company automatically contributes an amount equal to 3% of each associates pay each pay period with no contribution by the associate themselves. This plan is in addition to the optional 401k plan that is available.
