If you have family you have to pay in full for the amount until you spend up to $6500 deductive. Although company still support a part of it you still feel it is expensive.

Coverage was much better up until a few years ago. It's still not bad, but everyone basically took a pay cut to maintain the prior level of coverage.

Overall the coverage is decent but it can be confusing and difficult to manage bill paying and the corporate support sites are not good.

Health insurance is not what it once was, but then again, neither is anything (there) anymore.

In 2014 - $0 premiums, $1250 annual deductible for individual plan, comprehensive coverage including vision, dental and some alternative (acupuncture, chiropractic care and massage). Continuing the same plan under Cobra costs me $475/mo.

The Microsoft contribution to the Health Savings Account used to be the same amount as the deductible, so you could really keep out of pocket costs low. Now it is a bit less, but still excellent if you have low medical costs (you are saving a lot for the future), but a good safety net if you have a big cost (the out of pocket maximum isn't too high).
