Sick Leave

Great policy that has eroded over the last 4-5 years - but still generous.

You accrue sick days based on how long you have been at NetApp. At this point, I have a lot of sick time built up and feel okay taking time off to take care of sick kids or not having to drag myself into work if I am not well. Not having to be sick at work is awesome.

The best is the employee can accumulate sick leave but hardly to use it. The company should offer cash for employee who is never sick.

I forgot to add that Sick Days - like Vacation Days - are capped at 240 hours, but while I don't use them, I think this is more than what others offer and I haven't had a complaint for taking sick days in a long time. Even under very remarkable circumstances, HR has been very willing to work with you, etc. before making someone take disability. I had to care for a dying friend once and they were VERY accommodating (and didn't have to be, something I am still grateful for).

There is PLENTY of sick days available to use. Can be used for family sick days as well (i.e. when you have to tend to sick family members)
