Bereavement Leave

I have used this and it is the 3 day standard

Offered but have not had to use

Depending on who died this works out quite well. It has to be somebody in immediate family though. However if your deceased dad's best friend raised you, it would count towards it. But if your third cousin dies, you gotta use your PTO.

You get 4 paid days if needed

Employee for 10 years this month and have used bereavement three times. Two grandparents and my mother. You get three days, but each time I was told to take as much as I needed (company paid for three, after that it would be unpaid or vacation time) I never once had to provide proof however each time they sent flowers.. which I think is probably their tactful way of checking if it is legit. My only gripe is you don’t get time for aunts and uncles.

Similar with other companies policies.

NEED YOU TO PROVIDE PROOF OF PERSON THAT PASSED.. VERY INSINCERE

I have thankfully only had to use the leave 1 time so far, and they make it very easy to use if needing to fly out of town and such.
